One Day Guided Walk & Boat Cruise
7.30 am Pick up from your Picton accommodation
8.00 am Leave Picton onboard cruise boat
4.45pm Arrive back into Picton

After picking you up from your accommodation in Picton we begin the day onboard our cruise
boat. We make our way up Queen Charlotte Sound en route to the start of the Queen
Charlotte Track at Ships Cove. We stop for 1.5 hrs on Motuara Island, a predator free,
protected island and home to some of New Zealand's rarest birds such as the
Saddleback.
This is also the place where in 1770 Captain James Cook claimed sovereignty over the
South Island in the name of King George III.

After a short hop over to Ships Cove to take in the cultural and historical significance of the
area we then travel around to Resolution Bay to feed the large Blue Cod that live in these
waters. We then begin our walk to Furneaux Lodge where we return to Picton on the
afternoon mail boat. The views along the way are breathtaking and the forest drips with large
native palms and tall, majestic tree ferns.
A delicious packed lunch is included.
