Discover the Marlborough regions best kept secret - The Cape Campbell Walkway.
Four days and four nights staying in historic homesteads and cottages. The walk - 54
km's - is on privately owned farmland and is the site of new Zealand's first sheep farm,
combing shrub and tussock land with picturesque coastline and outstanding views of the
South and north islands.
The Cape Campbell Walkway is located halfway between Blenheim and Kaikoura on the
east coast of the south Island. Transportation from Blenheim to the start of the walk is
included.
This is an all inclusive guided walk and includes all meals, accommodation, nature guide
and luggage transfers daily so you only need carry a light day bag.
Accommodation is in original homesteads and cottages. Clean, private rooms, shared
bathrooms, hot showers, cosy lounges and large comfortable veranda's to relax and
reflect on your days achievement while enjoying a glass or two of local Marlborough wine.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks are provided and the evening meal consists of a
starter, main and dessert.
Itinerary
Day One
Pick up from Blenheim or Picton 3pm. Arrive Throplee Homestead - a spacious 4
bedroom villa built in 1910. After dinner your guide will give you a presentation of the
historical significance of the area and go over the walk with you for the next 4 days.
Day Two
After our fist days walk we reach The Shirt Cottage. Relax on the wide spacious veranda's.
Day Three
Cape Campbell Lighthouse is todays destination. Once there take time to explore the
beach and many rock pools and maybe even go for a swim.
Day Four
Today we make our way to Freeth Estate Homestead, built in 1908 where a beautiful
cottage garden awaits.
The next day we make our way back to Throplee Homestead and return back to Blenheim.
