Accommodation is in the Marlborough Sounds newest boutique lodge nestled in pristine
native forest and only a stones throw from the waters edge. There has been no expense
spared in the building of this unique luxury lodge and you will not want to leave at the end of
your stay.  Large private rooms all with sea views, claw foot baths, gourmet meals, total
privacy.
If you like seafood your going to love this place.

Three Day Itinerary

Day One
Start the day by being collected from your accommodation or the ferry terminal in Picton
followed by a cruise out into the Marlborough Sounds on board the local Mail Boat which
takes you as far as Ships Cove where you begin you walk. No heavy backpacks to carry as
your overnight luggage is sent on ahead.
Your skipper will give a full commentary as you cruise along. Keep a look out for dolphins,
seals and penguins that live in this area.
Ship Cove is the site that Captain Cook spent much of his time here while charting the
coastline of New Zealand and today retains many of the natural features that Cook would
have seen such as large, majestic native trees, sub tropical palms and tall tree ferns.
Begin making your way to Endeavour Inlet and your accommodation for the next two nights,
The No Road Inn. So named as there are no roads in and the only way of getting here is by
water or walking. Enjoy a relaxing freshwater, outdoor hot tub made from a century old wine
barrel set over a stream nestled in the native forest once you arrive.
The evening meal is accompanied by local Marlborough wines.
Alternatively arrive in Picton in the morning and get an afternoon water taxi.

Day Two
A day to relax or explore, the choice is yours.
After a leisurely breakfast you may want to take a twin hulled tandem kayak out into the inlet,
exploring the many hidden coves and beaches tucked away in this serene environment.
Another option is to explore the area around the lodge. In the vicinity there are several
examples of
1500 year old native New Zealand trees that are set amongst tall stands of
virgin native forest. Take a picnic lunch up there with you and enjoy it while sitting beneath
these giants of the forest.

Day Three
Toady you can decide if you would like to walk more of the Queen Charlotte track and arrive
back in Picton late afternoon or get the morning water taxi back arriving back into town
around midday, the choice is yours.
On arrival back to Picton you will be met by a Natural Encounters staff member who will
deliver you as well as your luggage back to your accommodation or to the ferry terminal.
